A Word From Our Principal

Hallsville Bobcat Head Logo

As we enter the final month of the school year, there is a strong sense of pride and accomplishment across our campus. What a journey this has been! From the fresh start of spring to the hard work and focus shown during April, our students have continued to rise to every challenge. We are incredibly proud of their perseverance, growth, and the determination they have shown in and out of the classroom.

With state testing now behind us, we look forward to celebrating the progress our students have made this year. While we await results, it is important to recognize that their success is not defined by a single test, but by the consistent effort, resilience, and learning they have demonstrated all year long.

These final weeks are just as important as any other part of the school year. Instruction will remain focused and meaningful as we continue to build on the strong foundation our students have developed. At the same time, we will take time to celebrate achievements, create lasting memories, and honor the growth—academic, social, and emotional—that has taken place.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout this school year. Your encouragement and involvement have made a tremendous difference. Together, we will ensure our students finish strong, celebrate well, and step confidently into what comes next.

Student Cell Phone & Personal Communication Device Legislation for 2025–2026

The Texas Legislature has enacted a new law banning the use of cell phones and personal communication devices in Texas schools. In alignment with House Bill 1481, Hallsville ISD will enforce these regulations regarding the use of personal communication devices during the instructional day.

Guidelines

Prohibited Use:

  • Students may not use personal cell phones or school-issued devices for personal communication.

  • House Bill 1481 prohibits the use of personal communication devices anywhere on campus during the instructional day — including hallways, restrooms, and common areas. The instructional day is defined from the first bell to the last bell, including all scheduled class periods, meals, and transitions.

  • Devices must remain powered off, out of sight, or stored in a teacher-provided location.

Electronic Communication:

  • Students are not permitted to use personal or school-issued devices to call, text, message, or engage in online chats.

  • This includes the use of apps and services for texting, messaging, or calling.

Emergency Contact Procedures:

  • Parents and guardians who need to contact their child during the school day must call the campus front office. Staff will ensure that messages are delivered promptly.

Prohibited Personal Communication Devices Include:
Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, pagers, handheld gaming devices, wireless headphones/Ear Buds.

What Parents Can Do:

  • Speak to your child about this new policy.

  • Encourage appropriate cell phone use.

  • Promote the importance of student focus during instructional time.

Disciplinary actions for violating this policy will follow the Hallsville ISD Code of Conduct.

Lunchtime

Safety & Privacy
Promote allergy prevention and privacy by dining with your students only at the designated hallway booths or overflow tables on the stage. This is school policy.

Lunchtime Chats
• What is the funniest face you can make?
• If you had one superpower, what would it be?
• What Leader in Me quality did you show today?
• If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Exit Plan
Five minutes before lunch ends, please have your student finish up, throw their trash away, and rejoin their class in the Café. You will return to the Front Office to check out at that time.

BE KIND, BE RESILIENT, BE BOBCAT PROUD, GO BOBCATS!
